Rajan Rai

Children are often thought of as our future.  Rajan's practice is strongly driven to look after the future for our clients, whether in forming Family Trusts or being an advocate for children in the Youth Court, or as their Lawyer in Family Court Proceedings.  Rajan is currently on the board for the Taranaki Youth Development Trust and is working closely with others such as the local Youth Aid officer to ensure a better future.

Rajan's court room advocacy skills, insight and foresight are used in his daily practice and also in his position as Executive Partner, promoting a strong firm culture with great people and superior legal services.  Rajan practices in Criminal Law, Family Law, Resource Management, Commercial and Trust & Wills.

Rajan graduated from University of Otago in 1983 with a LL.B degree and first worked in the firm Lloyd Dodson Gartreill in Dannevirke. He joined the law firm of Buchanan Butler & Rai in 1983, becoming partner in 1986. Rajan became a partner in our firm during the merger with Buchanan Butler & Rai in July 2000.
